End Citizens United Recommends Doug Jones For US Senate

On its mission to eliminate dark money in politics, End Citizens United, a political action committee, has announced its endorsement of Democratic nominee Doug Jones for U.S. Senate. The special election in Alabama will see Doug Jones and his competitor, Roy Moore, contest for a seat left vacant by Jeff Sessions, who is now the US attorney general. Mr. Jones is a former U.S. attorney. Tiffany Muller, the president of End Citizens United (ECU), said that he is the right choice for political reform. According to Tiffany, Moore is an “extremist with a racist, bigoted agenda, who will defend a corrupt, rigged system in Washington that favors the priorities of special interests over every day Alabamians.” Tiffany added that Moore does not represent the values of Alabama and America because he will use big money to influence politics. She accused him of pocketing over $1 million from a charity that he controlled.

End Citizens United posited that Doug is a man of character and integrity. While serving as the U.S. attorney, he fought for justice for the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing victims that were members of KKK. Once voted in, Doug will unrig the system by driving dark money out of politics while giving voice to the oppressed. ECU said that Moore’s campaign is sponsored by undercover dark money groups, including Public Advocate and an anti-LGBT organization. While working as a judge, Moore was suspended and expelled from office for prioritizing his personal matters over the rule of law. Tiffany said that as a prosecutor, Doug Jones demonstrated his firm character. He never hesitated to do what was right. He will transfer the same commitment to Congress and restore the American political landscape to suit all citizens. Doug Jones said that he looks forward to working with ECU to curb the corrosive influence of big money in politics.

About End Citizens United

End Citizens United, which is funded by grassroots donors, was established in 2015 to counter a ruling made by the Supreme Court in support of Citizens United. After the 2010 Supreme Court’s decision, the American political landscape has experienced an unprecedented rise of super PACS and unlimited spending. ECU intends to enhance financial reform by electing candidates who advocate for the same. In addition, they intend to draw national attention to the issue by pushing policy makers to take action. ECU seeks to sensitize elected leaders, voters, candidates and the press on the disastrous effects of unlimited spending by billionaires, whose personal interests are put first. Besides endorsing finance reform Democrats, ECU supports candidates who are under threat by corporate special interests and giant donors, including their networks of super PACS. Moreover, they capitalize on the power of grassroots membership to enhance their authority.
